Unraveling the Lies That Twist Our Lives

Twisting the Truth untwists the lies that can drag us down. Our society is expert at distorting the truth. How can we learn to discern in a culture of deception? Andy Stanley exposes four destructive and all-too-prevalent lies about authority, pain, sex, and sin. They're deceptions powerful enough to ruin our relationships, our lives, even our eternities—but only if we let them. Discover how to exchange the falsehoods of our day for

the life-changing truths of Scripture.

The Lenten Season

for 2020

Lent is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.

Shrove Tuesday - February 25th Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it's the last day before Lent. Lent is a time of abstinence, of giving things up. So Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren't allowed in Lent. Giving up foods: but not wasting them. In the old days there were many foods that observant Christians would not eat during Lent: foods such as meat and fish, fats, eggs, and milky foods. So that no food was wasted, families would have a feast on the shriving Tuesday, and eat up all the foods that wouldn't last the forty days of Lent without going bad.

Ash Wednesday - February 26th Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent, a day of reflection and repentance from sin.

Palm Sunday - April 5th Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Holy Week is from April 5th to April 11th Holy Week

is the week leading up to Easter.

Maundy Thursday - April 9th Maundy Thursday commemorates the foot washing and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Disciples.

Good Friday - April 10th Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.

Easter Sunday - April 12th Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and His victory over sin and death.

Thirty Pieces of Silver

Lenten Offering

Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver!

Lent is a time to remember the betrayal, death and the resurrection of Jesus.

We invite you to show your love for Christ by transforming 30 pieces of silver from the price of a betrayal into a Love Offering you give back to the Lord. We encourage you to save 30 pieces of silver (nickels, dimes, quarters) in one of the cloth sacks available beginning Sunday, March 1. Place your offering in the offering plate during Holy Week, to be used to help others in need.

Missions Update

Operation Christmas Child – Yes, we’re already thinking about this! We are trying something new this year. We will  be collecting items throughout the year, with each month having a specific focus. This will allow people to shop throughout the year instead of rushing to assemble everything in November. We have had someone volunteer space to store everything until November. We are listing both January and February here to catch up!

January: Hats, gloves, scarves

February: Accessories – jewelry, bows, watches, sunglasses, etc.

A day will be designated in November when items will be sorted, and boxes packed.

If you prefer to pack your own box with your family in November, you are welcome to do so!

Living Water Yard Sale – Your opportunity to raise money for missions AND simplify your life by clearing out excess from your home!!

The Yard Sale is Friday and Saturday, March 27 & 28 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Items may be brought in any time after 12 noon on Sunday, March 22. All items will be free with people asked to make a donation to Living Water Missions.

The Miracles of Jesus

From the healing of lepers to turning water into wine, many studies focus on how the miracles of Jesus demonstrate God's power. But this study takes it a step further showing how each miracle reveals God's character, the kingdom of God, and His love for you. Each

lesson is introduced from a different location in Israel, setting the scene and context for the evening’s message. Join us Tuesday evenings during Lent as we explore 6 of Jesus’ most well-known miracles and find the deeper connection to your faith.
